Director of the Bureau of Campaign Finance and Civic Engagement, Pennsylvania Department of State
Tiffany Chang Lawson was appointed the director of the Bureau of Campaign Finance and Civic Engagement on February 9, 2019.
In her role as director, Lawson manages the department’s division of campaign finance and lobbying disclosure as well as the department’s civic engagement program which oversees the Governor’s Civic Engagement Award and the Pennsylvania Campus Voting Challenge. She provides leadership on daily operations of the bureau, including the development of the bureau’s budget, strategic goals, legislative analysis, policies, and procedures.
Prior to joining the department, Lawson served as the executive director of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, beginning in July 2013. She served as the senior advisor to Governor Corbett and Governor Wolf and their respective administrations on policies and legislation that impacted the diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander communities across Pennsylvania.
Lawson also previously served as director of special projects for Governor Wolf and managed the development of stakeholder engagement platforms in partnership with the Department of State to engage constituents on election modernization initiatives. Lawson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in a self-developed major titled Global Feminisms and a minor in Chinese Language from Dickinson College. Lawson lives in Susquehanna Township with her spouse, and their dog, Bella.
