Jirandy Martinez

Jirandy Martinez is the Executive Director of the Community Resource Center. Community Resource Center (CRC) is a nonprofit community-based organization empowering immigrant and low-income families by providing the resources and advocacy to help them become self-reliant and thriving members of the community.

Jirandy has been with the organization since 2008 when she began as an ESL volunteer teacher and has grown with the organization over the last decade of its exponential growth from a Programs Coordinator to Programs Director and now as its leader providing innovative community-centered vision. Now in its 25th anniversary, Jirandy is proud to be a part of the Center’s history first designed as a referral service organization to one that now provides comprehensive direct client social and legal immigration services; educational programs for children, youth, and adults; workforce development and job readiness training; immigrant, workers’ rights, and housing advocacy as well as community organizing.

As a native Mamaroneck resident and the daughter of hard-working Colombian immigrants, Jirandy developed a deep passion for social justice and immigrant rights at a young age. Her Latinx heritage has informed her ability to make connections between obstacles she has overcome and issues that affect marginalized groups.

Jirandy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies and Humanities from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from The Marxe School of Public and International Affairs of Baruch College. She is also a graduate of Hispanic Federation’s Hispanic Leadership Institute class of 2013. Jirandy is proud to be named 2018 Westchester’s 30 under 30 Wunderkinds, 2022 New York State Women of Distinction, and 2022 Crain’s Notable Hispanic Leaders. Jirandy is Vice President on the Board of Nonprofit Westchester and represents CRC on the Mamaroneck Human Rights Committee, Healthier Mamaroneck Committee, Mamaroneck Coalition for Community, and the Mamaroneck Coalition for Affordable Housing.
